On Saturday, October 11, the three councils that support Philadelphia Yearly Meeting—Quaker Life Council, Administrative Council, and Nominating Council—held their meeting in the joint format. In this structure, all three councils meet together as one Joint Council to worship, discern, and conduct business collaboratively. Their practice is to share the minutes in a news story with the PYM community in the week following the meeting.

Millville Meeting with this statement expresses its support for the separate lawsuits that our umbrella organizations, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and Friends General Conference, along with other Quaker, Christian, Unitarian Universalist, Jewish, and Sikh organizations have undertaken against the federal government’s new policy under this Trump Administration regarding ICE raids at houses of worship and other “sensitive places” that undocumented immigrants have used until now to meet essential religious and secular needs. How Meetings Can Support the Lawsuit?
Friends and meetings want to be able to support the lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security. While there is not a direct role, such as joining the suit, there are a number of important things that can be done.
