Please join Friends Ending Gun Violence Collaborative for a tour of the Souls Shot Portrait Project on view at Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley, PA. Souls Shot Portrait Project pairs fine artists with families and friends who have lost loved ones to gun violence. The artists work in concert with these families to get to know the loved ones through photos, memorabilia, videos, and the all-important stories. The portraits are created using diverse approaches, styles, and mediums that emphasize the uniqueness of the souls portrayed. Visiting the exhibition is a powerful experience. With One Voice Interfaith Leaders United to End Gun Violence | Weekly brief from Billy Penn
Friends who are part of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and Friends Ending Gun Violence Collaborative of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, have signed this statement calling for changes to Pennsylvania gun laws. It comes as about 1,600 Pennsylvanians are killed by gun violence each year and about 3,000 more are injured.
