Join Friends from Chester Quarterly Meeting for an interfaith vigil on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 12 pm noon alongside The New Sanctuary Movement and interfaith partners. We will gather outside of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Philadelphia Office at 8th & Cherry Streets to hold a prayer vigil to show our faithful commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of our immigrant neighbors.
The vigil will be led in a manner of Friends, including silent worship, a message from Jim Fussell (BYM), and opportunities to sing.
This is part of a 40-week series of prayer vigils initiated by the New Sanctuary Movement (NSM) of Philadelphia and sponsored by various Philadelphia faith communities. NSM builds community across faith, ethnicity, and class in their work to end injustices against immigrants regardless of immigration status and to express radical welcome for all.
