Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (PYM) shares Green Philly’s announcement of the 2026 SustainPHL Award recipients, including Climate Hero Award recipient Eileen Flanagan, pictured at center. A member of Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting, Eileen has worked with Earth Quaker Action Team. PYM has approved a minute of religious service for Eileen and awarded grants supporting travel connected to her work.
During her acceptance speech, Eileen thanked her Quaker community and spoke about the contributions of different organizations to climate action. She compared their work to an ecosystem, caring for that no individual or organization works alone and that each depends on the contributions of others.
