Friends from every meeting, region, and generation across Philadelphia Yearly Meeting carry impactful legacies forward each day. Committees and meetings record minutes, councils carry forward the business of the yearly meeting, organizations in our region act in ministry, and faith moves through individual Friends. Each of these moments creates a story worth sharing.
The PYM News page is a place where Friends can post those stories. Sharing here helps connect meetings with one another, allowing Friends from all over, learn from what is happening in the PYM region, and records how our community is living its Quaker faith today. Meetings, collaboratives, and peer groups are always encouraged to share their minutes with the yearly meeting; posting stories is another way to let others know how the Spirit is moving among PYM Friends.
Stories can take many forms. They may be updates from collaboratives, sprints, or committees. They may be reflections or minutes from a monthly or quarterly meeting has been doing together. They may come from Quaker organizations active in our region. Stories can include epistles, press releases, meeting statements, or outbound messages from the PYM community. They might highlight when a PYM meeting or member is covered in newspapers, magazines, or online, or they may be announcements of new or important information.
Each story, minute, reflection, and moment adds to the vibrancy of our yearly meeting. When Friends share their stories, the way opens for others, who may be led to share their own experiences in turn.
Share your stories here, if you have any questions connect with PYM Staff at info@pym.org.
PYM Connect
If you feel your story or thought is too brief, or you have any questions and want to share it with just the PYM community, you can add it in one of the Communities of Practice channels on PYM Connect. These spaces are only shaped by what PYM Friends choose to share, and each post are the threads of connection between us.
