Last week, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting shared opportunities for Young Adult Friends with American Friends Service Committee and Friends Committee and Friends Committee on National Legislation.
Quaker Voluntary Service is also accepting applications for the 2026–27 Fellowship year; young adults are invited to serve and to learn in a Quaker setting.
Fellows commit to an 11-month program that runs from late August to mid-July; the year centers on three shared commitments: Working for Change, Exploring Spirituality, and Developing Community. Priority applications are due March 1, 2026; applications close June 1, 2026, or when all positions are filled.

Applications for the 2026-27 QVS year are open!
Priority applications for the program are due on March 1st, 2026.
Applications for the 2026-27 QVS year will close on June 1, 2026 or when all positions are filled. Our 11-month program runs from the end of August to mid-July each year.
Our application includes several essay questions. If you would like to start working on your answers to the questions, you can use this worksheet. Please note that we are trying to get to know you through these essays.
Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of AI to compose your essays. If writing is not a strong skill for you, please contact our recruitment coordinator, Ruth (ruth@quakervoluntaryservice.org), and she can help you to write your essays.
Prospective Fellow Info sessions/Appy hours: Join these fun and interactive virtual sessions to learn more about the program and to meet other prospective Fellows. We might also be joined by current QVS Fellows, QVS staff members, or QVS Alumni. If time allows, the session may morph into a co-working session where applicants can work on their application essays in a supportive space.
