
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Friends can apply for the Post-Secondary Education Grant until June 1.
The Quaker Education Granting Group distributes funds on behalf of the yearly meeting in three program areas:
- Grants of up to $2,500 to support PYM Young Adult Friends pursuing post-secondary degrees.
- Grants to small Friends Schools to support teachers’ retirement plans, apportioned based on the size of the school.
- Grants for tuition aid to PYM families with children enrolled in Friends schools; these are administered by Friends Council on Education and awarded to families through their school’s financial aid office.
Individual grants for this committee are kept confidential, but in the past year:
- $34,325 was contributed to support retirement funds for teachers at 13 Friends schools.
- $42,500 was granted to Young Adult Friends pursuing undergrad and graduate degrees.
- $39,197 was granted to support Friends’ children attending Friends schools.
