As Fall begins, the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting community gathers again, with different opportunities to be together at Haverford Friends Meeting, Friends Center, Arch Street Meeting House, and online.
These opportunities invite Friends of every age and group, from families and Middle School Friends to whole committees, to gather in fellowship, discernment, and learning as a faith community, continuing connection through time spent as Members One of Another.
From October 10 – 12, Young Adult Friends will gather at Haverford Meeting for their Fall Retreat, spending time in worship and fellowship around the theme of navigating transitions. On October 12, Friends Center, continuing to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, partners with PYM for an afternoon workshop on how faith communities can be in accompaniment with immigrants. Led by New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia, this offering lifts up the call to solidarity, offering both testimony and practical ways to respond together. Also on October 12, Middle School Friends will meet online for their Welcome Gathering, Starting the school year by getting to know one another in ease.
The month concludes on October 25 at Arch Street Meeting House with the Climate Witness: Let Our Actions Speak! Thread Gathering, a day when children, youth, families, and adults come together for workshops, worship, and action for the Earth.
