Green Investing

In this video, you will learn from three experts about new and greener investment opportunities for Monthly Meetings, other organizations and individuals.

Presenters:

  • Jeff Perkins, from Friends Fiduciary Corporation will talk about recent changes they’ve made to “green” their Balanced Fund, and Green Fund. Friends Fiduciary handles investments for hundreds of Quaker meetings and organizations and has a strong shareholder advocacy program.
  • Peter Krajsa, National Energy Investment Fund is one of the country’s most experienced energy efficiency lenders, having created and run the Keystone Energy Loan and Home Energy Loan Programs for years. This most recent venture permits individuals and organizations to invest in a fund dedicated to growing the clean energy industry.
  • Ethan Birchard will describe the work of Prentiss Smith and Co., which manages investments for both individual and institutional investors. All investments of this socially responsible firm have been completely fossil fuel-free since 2011. They also have a growing shareholder advocacy program.

What is a Collaborative?

Collaboratives are networks of individual Quakers who work jointly on common interests specific to themselves. Collaborative work, witness, and activity are distinct from corporate ministry of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.

Though many individual Quakers join together in addressing social concerns, Quakerism is a faith of continuing revelation and PYM is a ‘big tent’ with many opinions.
