As many of you know, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting has been working to craft a Guidance on Advocacy and Lobbying to support the witness of our PYM groups (Councils, Collaboratives, and others engaged in activism). We have listened, Sprinted, threshed, and discerned the need and the contents of the Guidance on Advocacy and Lobbying draft document. It is our intention to bring this draft Guidance to Continuing Sessions in November 2025 for further discernment. Our goal is to bring PYM to unity on the Guidance for Advocacy and Lobbying. This listening session is a time for all Friends to read the draft, ask questions, and share insights.
On Friday, November 7, at 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Philadelphia Yearly Meeting will gather online to begin Fall Continuing Sessions with a special focus on Affinity Groups. Friends will have five breakout rooms to choose from, each connected to one of five different Affinity Groups. Those who join will be able to move among the rooms that reflect the communities with which they identify, finding connection with others who may share their experiences and identities.
