In this lecture, Rashid Darden, an award-winning novelist, educator, Quaker minister, and outspoken advocate for justice, explores the intersections of race, sexuality, and faith within the Religious Society of Friends. Drawing from his life as a Black gay Quaker, Darden will reflect on how these identities have shaped his spiritual journey, his creative work, and his ministry in Quaker communities.
