The Birds’ Eye View of the Pendle Hill Landscape

June 7 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Free

A birding nature walk tour of the Pendle Hill arboretum.

Join Jeffrey Gordon, internationally acclaimed birding guide, and Lloyd Guindon, Director of Facilities and Grounds, for a fun and engaging tour of the property with an eye to the sky and an ear to the trees. In early June, bird breeding activity reaches a crescendo and we are likely to see and hear evidence of nesting from a number of species. How do Pendle Hill’s plants, trees, and overall ecosystem support a healthy and varied bird life? What can I do to improve the bird habitat in my own backyard and/or neighborhood and what other actions might I take to support local bird life? Finally, why is it important to do so? How can an enhanced awareness of birds improve our lives and in turn the lives of birds?
