Join us for a weekend of joyful inspiration, resources, renewal, worship and fellowship. We gather as a community of practice of over 700 Friends spanning six continents. We bring together the craft of our practice, our fresh approaches and our areas of challenge and struggle. We hold all of it together with a worshipful heart and mind.
Our program features:
- Melinda Wenner Bradley: Patterns & Examples — Answering New Questions with Faith & Play Stories
- Beth Henricks: Quaker Affirmation Curriculum for Adults
- Laura MacNorlin: Using the Arts in our Practice and Programming
- Peter Blood: Tools to Build a Vibrant Quaker Movement in the 21st Century
Additional sessions focus on building your circle of families and re-igniting and re-imagining your Children’s Ministry after all of the changes brought by the COVID pandemic. We’ll have time for regional conversations and plenary sessions with Spanish language interpretation.
Come celebrate our shared stewardship of Quaker faith formation and all of the new ways this is happening. Bring your work to share through an interest group, a presentation board, and informal conversation. Take home the joy of fellowship, the energy of renewed vision, and the hope of positive examples of vibrant Quaker meetings and Friends churches.

QREC Pre-Conference Workshop: October 14
Elizabeth Wintermute and Andrew Wright (both from Durham Friends Meeting in North Carolina, United States) will lead this workshop for English-speaking Friends from around the world on October 14, 2023. Elizabeth is a master teacher with years of experience to draw upon, both in secular education settings and at Quaker Meeting. Andrew serves Durham Friends Meeting as the Youth Coordinator. This workshop rose out of requests for guidance around lesson planning, literally from around the world.
This workshop will be two sessions, each will be two hours long and there will be a 30 minute break between them. The first session will focus on writing religious education curriculum for elementary age (pre-teens) and the second session will focus on developing engaging programs for middle school youth (teens). Please join us for the entire workshop or for the session that is most relevant to your ministry. Elizabeth and Andrew look forward to sharing what they have learned from working with children and youth of various ages over many years.
