Navigating the Unexpected: Street Skills for Crowds Training
June 1 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free

Protest actions rarely go exactly as planned. How do we respond from a grounded place when our crowds are larger than planned or something unexpected happens? In this experiential training in street skills for crowds, we’ll sink our teeth into a variety of scenario examples and explore how to navigate complex situations, including marshal skills beyond one on one deescalation, managing large groups in emergent street scenarios, and shifting risk assessments. Develop your ability to assess, reflect, and make informed decisions in real-time, building resilience and skill in seeing the people around you as a resource. This training is being offered by Central Philadelphia Friends Meeting and will be led by trainers from CPFM, Earth Quaker Action Team, Jewish Voice for Peace Philadelphia, and New Town Friends Meeting. Participants will leave with skills to marshal for a variety of marches and actions. Sign up here.
