Why: Because we need to find a solution to our nation’s big problems – we cannot do that if we see the “other side” as enemies or strangers. There is a lot of stress these days among families and friends who are divided politically.
Process: Learn what is involved in developing attitudes, words, and using ways to talk with folks on the “other” side with whom we share a national past and future.
Goals: Discover how to be more aware of your own “inner polarizations”; learn how to be critical without demonizing, dismissing, or stereotyping; understand how to handle political and social conversations with peers when these conversations turn to contempt or ridicule for people with different views.
