Affinity Groups at Fall Continuing Sessions
On Friday, November 7, at 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Philadelphia Yearly Meeting will gather online to begin Fall Continuing Sessions with a special focus on Affinity Groups. Friends will have five breakout rooms to choose from, each connected to one of five different Affinity Groups. Those who join will be able to move among the rooms that reflect the communities with which they identify, finding connection with others who may share their experiences and identities.
In the main Zoom room, Friends will share in a time of waiting worship to center us for the weekend under the theme Members One of Another. Affinity Group spaces include Friends of Color, Friends with Disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ Friends, as well as Quaker parents and Quaker grandparents. These gatherings offer a chance for Friends to meet, connect, and share about raising families and living their faith in community.
All Friends will use the same Zoom link for these gatherings that will be used throughout Fall Continuing Sessions. The link will be shared with everyone who registers, whether attending the rest of sessions online, person, or just the Friday Affinity Group Opportunity.
