A Little About My Role at PYM
As Director of Program and Religious Life, Melinda holds care for cultivating relationship and ministry in our community and working with program and community engagement staff to direct their energy and resources to support PYM Friends. Melinda’s program work focuses on religious education and pastoral care in local meetings, and she seeks to nurture all-ages, intergenerational spiritual community among Friends.
After nearly 20 years teaching history and religion in Friends schools, Melinda’s work since 2013 has been a teaching ministry focused on developing programs and resources to nurture multigenerational faith communities. In 2014, she co-founded the Quaker Religious Education Collaborative, a grassroots network of religious education practitioners. She previously served PYM as the Youth Religious Life Coordinator and NYYM as the Children and Youth Field Secretary. She is also the Director of Communications and Training for Faith & Play Stories and a licensed Godly Play trainer. Melinda holds a BA from Bryn Mawr College, a MA in Education from the University of Michigan, and is a student at Lancaster Theological Seminary (MA in Ministry and Leadership expected May 2024). Her family worships with West Chester Meeting.
