The PYM Library

We conserve and lend materials on Quakerism faith, practice and history to all interested people.  Our goal is to help nurture the spiritual life of all seekers, members and friends.

Welcome to the Henry J. Cadbury Library

The PYM library has an extensive collection of 23,000 books, periodicals, and audio-visual items, for children and adults, dealing mainly with Quaker theology, history, biography and social concerns.

These materials are used for spiritual inspiration, research, and in Quaker studies programs, by monthly meeting groups, teachers and students, and by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting staff and individual borrowers.

Friends are welcome and encouraged to visit in person, or work with your Interim Meeting representative to transport borrowed items (a green thing to do). Mailing can be arranged if you pay for postage.

The PYM Library open Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 – 6:00 pm.

PYM Library volunteer staff: Greg Barnes, Kate Bregman, Joan Broadfield, Charlotte Hedgebeth, Louis LeFevre, Patricia Libbey, Melanie Monk, Paula Pettyjohn, Chrissy Spallone, Rebecca Straus, Rita Varley

The PYM Library posts photos of our buildings, our staff, our patrons, and more on our Shutterfly Share site. You can view the PYM Library’s Share site to see all of our photos and videos. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom of each page of the Share site to get the latest content on that page delivered directly to you. If you have questions on how to do this feel free to contact the library staff. If you see an image of yourself in our collection that you wish to be removed please contact the library.
