Sprints allow our community to respond to leadings at the moment. They provide agility in addressing a specific need as soon as it arises and helps to get the job done quickly. They last no longer than 1-6 months; the shorter the better. They can be under the care of any other structure, such as councils, committees, and collaboratives.
Climate Change Sprint
Charge: With attention to the Leading of Spirit, the Sprint is expected to bring a report and specific recommendations to Quaker Life Council in time for consideration of that report and recommendations to be included in Annual Sessions, 2021 for discernment and action.

Membership & Belonging Sprint
Charge: The Membership Sprint is charged with considering the messages from the Epistles, the Threshing Session, the Monthly Meetings’ responses, Continuing Sessions and information available from others concerned with the issue of membership, then creating a written document recommending a plan to address membership concerns.

Governance Support for Addressing Racism (DEI) Sprint
Charge: To bring forward a recommendation for governance-level structural support for our commitment to address racism
To build capacity for our community to grow and deepen our commitment and action
To base the recommendation on best practices of DEI work and our religious community
To draw on the deep skills and understanding of anti-racism and racial justice in our community and from the experience of people who have been deeply involved in our work

Governance and Strategic Direction Review Sprint
Charge: Best planning practices involve constant review, measurement, and mid-course adjustments and corrections. With Divine assistance, the Governance and Strategic Direction Review Sprint is charged to evaluate and assess the continued relevance of each of the initial Strategic Directions and the possible emergence of new Strategic Directions. It would make recommendations on how to proceed with the “REFRESH” of this plan.
