The Spirit has been moving strongly and deeply among members and attenders at Makefield Meeting in 2025.<\/p>\n
Our worship room is our sanctuary where we experience our collective spirituality. Worship is mostly silent, as we intuitively seem to follow the sentiment of a late member who said: \u201cOnly speak when it can improve the silence.\u201d<\/p>\n
There are additional opportunities at Makefield Meeting that allow the Spirit to move among us: a sentiment board in the worship room, afterthoughts following meeting for worship, an informal, bi-monthly spiritual sharing group for women, and our weekly, varied spiritual enrichment program.<\/p>\n
Topics for the spiritual enrichment program are often prompted by how the Spirit moves among us. In addition, our diverse backgrounds enrich and deepen the quality of our sessions. In 2025, the topics we covered ranged from Old Testament study (Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, and us); an excerpt of Parker Palmer\u2019s books; articles from Friends Journal on continuing revelation, pathways to nature and Light, and Quakerism (What kind of Quaker am I?); contemplating the Queries for Story Sharing from PYM\u2019s Fall Continuing Sessions to watching a video on Anabaptists.<\/p>\n
The way the Spirit moves among us affects us individually in that it gives us a sense of renewal, connectedness, and restored faith.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
