We know the continued experience of online school at home or needing to distance at school — and unable to meet up with friends in the ways we’re used to — is challenging! Community is so important– especially during this time. Middle School Friends is a place where we can come together to share our fears, our joys, and laughter until we can be together for our gatherings again.
Join the Middle School Friends community for their next Hangout with an emphasis on immigration justice and youth-led witness.
We’re cooking up time for fun and fellowship with a global-themed cooking project, hope to hear from young activists in our PYM community, and end the time together with a simulation activity to explore the experience of refugees.
Quaker youth in Grades 6th-12th are invited to worship together in a youth-centered space.
The 30-minute online worship will be hosted by PYM Youth Programs staff and youth will have care of meeting for the community. All youth are invited: current participants in the Middle School Friends and Young Friends programs, and Friends new to the PYM youth community.
We gather the last Sunday of the month from 8-8:30pm starting on January 31st. Register in advance to receive the Zoom link.
Please keep an eye on the PYM website for information about upcoming events. Read more about PYM program decisions and registration. For youth events, we will follow a timeline that allows families to plan and staff to prepare. Questions? Reach out to Melinda Wenner Bradley, Youth Religious Life Coordinator at email@example.com or 215-241-7171.
WHAT’S UP WITH MSF . . . Some nuts and bolts!
The PYM Middle School Friends program provides middle schoolers who are Friends and friends of Friends the opportunity to connect with one another across the yearly meeting. Together we will create the MSF community, lift up and encourage leadership, explore what it means to be Quaker, and have ridiculous amounts of fun!
There will be an event page for each MSF gathering on the PYM website calendar. Online programs are being offered at no charge during this time. In-person MSF programs are generally $40 for a one-night overnight and $75 for a weekend retreat. Scholarships are always available!
All Middle School Friends must have a Medical/Permission form filled out for in-person gatherings and overnights. We keep this on file for the whole year, unless there are changes, and then renew it before Annual Sessions in July. Thank you!
