Slavery, Abolition, and the American Revolution

Maurice Jackson will speak about “Slavery, Abolition, and the American Revolution: Debates Rooted in Economics, Faith, Human Rights, and Foreign Policies” at Haddonfield Meeting on Monday, October 20 at 6:30 PM.   Dr. Maurice Jackson is the author of numerous books about African American history and Quakers and their Allies in the Abolitionist Cause, 1754-1808, which he co-authored with Susan Kozel. There will also be a brief presentation about the Lawnside-Haddonfield research on Quaker manumissions in the late 1800’s.

This program is a project of the Coalition on Slavery, Abolition and the American Revolution: Haddonfield Friends, the Historical Society of Haddonfield, Indian King Tavern and Museum, the Lawnside Historical Society, and The Preserving Black Haddonfield History Project.
