Newtown Friends Meeting will host a monthly series addressing issues related to aging in the second half of life. Each session will have time for both presentation by a professional and discussion. We welcome others from Bucks Quarter, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and others who are interested. There is no fee and you can choose which sessions you want to attend.
Topics will include: Transition to retirement, ageism, spirituality and aging, family caregiving, legal and financial planning, housing options, aging at home, memory loss and dementia, end of life planning and care, and healthy aging.
The first session will be held on September 15 at 12:30 on transitioning to retirement. Is it time to retire this term? What will your next chapter look like? When and why will you make this transition? What are the important factors to consider when planning this change? How can you find purpose, passion and paycheck? Facilitator: Susan W. Hoskins LCSW. Susan is the Executive Director of the Friends Foundation for the Aging, and previously directed the Princeton Senior Resource Center, which conducted programs on Engaged Retirement.
