Resources for Children & Youth Religious Education
August 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Preparation, Formation, and Belonging
As meetings look to resume religious education programs for children and youth this fall, Friends have an opportunity to center the needs of young people and their families in choices about schedules, curricula, and approaches to RE.
The queries in our book of Faith and Practice focused on Nurturing Our Community: Religious Education in the Home and Meeting ask us is place in the center of our religious education programs preparation, formation, and belonging. How do the queries encourage us to re-think a “scholastic model” of “First Day School lessons?” How can programs in local meetings model being an all-ages spiritual community of life-long learners in PYM?
Please join us as we explore the many resources and experiential learning tools available on the PYM website, including:
- Tools for planning
- Welcoming families with children
- Worship with young Friends
- Anti-racism curricula and resources
- Spiritual nurture in the home
- Online programs and worship
- Supporting adults who work with children in our meetings
This event will be hosted by Melinda Wenner Bradley, Youth Religious Life Coordinator.
