Quakertown Friends will host Bucks Quarterly Meeting (other Friends are welcome too). Jondhi Harrell and a speaker from the local Islamic community.
9:30: Registration and Refreshments. (Nursery and childcare will be available throughout the day)
10:00: Adult Program – Jondhi Harrell of The Center for Returning Citizens will talk about his work with TCRC which assists returning citizens in the transition from incarceration to society by providing employment services, housing assistance, counseling, mentoring, paralegal aid, and referral to necessary services. TCRC focuses on helping individuals, families and communities deal with the adverse impacts of incarceration. Among the many organizations that Jondhi is involved with, he is one of the visionaries of The Village. The Village is a proposed Green district in the North Philadelphia, Nicetown section. It will have a vocational center farmer’s market, health center, hotel ,mixed use of commercial and residential real estate – community owned and operated. North Philly is the location for The Center for Returning Citizens and the Ujima Friends Peace Center.
11:00-Noon: Meeting for Worship
10:00-Noon: Children’s Program: How can we as young Friends, help our community accept cultural change? There will be a round table discussion to formulate questions for a discussion the speaker who is a guest from the local Islam Community.
12:00 – Brown Bag Lunch with desserts and beverages provided by our Quakertown Friends.
1:00-3:00 – Meeting for Business There will be nursery & childcare (crafts and games) during business meeting: we will hear from our Doylestown, Makefield and Quakertown Friends. Our Treasurer will present the proposed 2018-19 budget and we will hear from coordinator, Outreach Committee and Friends Home and Village.
