I’ve just read this book, written by Marcelle Martin – a member of Swarthmore Friends Meeting, and I can truly say I think it would be an excellent book for adult religious education. Martin contrasts the experiences of early friends with friends today around several topics, including: the cross, abiding, community, and the refiner’s fire. It led me to thinking about these themes from my own experience. I highly encourage meetings to consider using this book for adult religious education. In addition, Marcelle will be teaching a course at Swarthmore Friends Meeting. For more information: http://www.pym.org/event/fall-class-quaker-spiritual-journey/
