SUMMARY:Continuing Revolution 2026 (Young Adults!)
DESCRIPTION:Pricing\n\nOn Campus Overnight: $$50/$75/$100\nOn Campus Commuter: $15/$30/$45\nZoom Only: $5/$15/$25\n\n\nWe offer a subsidized price for those with less financial resources and a subsidizing price for those with the ability to help support those with less. We invite your reflection in choosing which rate is the best fit for you.   \nIf you are seeking funds or alternate payment options (like someone else paying for you)\, please wait to register and first complete our Financial Assistance Application.  \n\nDescription\nA hybrid weekend workshop for young adults to connect\, learn skills for community resistance\, and deepen their personal spiritual practices.   \nGrounding in our personal spiritual journeys and community-level resistance and resilience work\, this program will bring together young adults ages 18-35 eager to deepen their personal spiritual landscape in community\, connect with others\, and learn skills to meet this moment.  \n2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. Philadelphia is a focal point of the celebrations. What can we learn from the last 250 years? What do we want our world to look like 250 years from now? What is our role in caring for one another? How can we build the skills and spiritual grounding necessary for building community and resisting oppressive systems? How can we deepen our personal spiritual practices?  \nLike past Continuing Revolution programs\, this offering is simultaneously grounded in Quaker values and practices and open to those with no prior knowledge or experience with Quakerism. We welcome all seekers who are interested in exploring the intersection of their personal spiritual journey and community needs\, regardless of faith or ideology.  \nStay tuned for more details about workshops. We hope to explore themes of creating community safety beyond policing\, mutual aid\, spiritual embodiment\, and the past and future of resistance in Philadelphia. \nSchedule\nOn-site (the full program schedule) \n\nFriday June 26: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Pendle Hill\nSaturday June 27: 9:00 am – 8:30 pm at Friends Center (including an off-site walking tour)\nSunday June 28: 9:00 am – 5 pm at Friends Center\n\nOn Zoom (the full program schedule) \n\nFriday June 26: 7:15pm – 9:00 pm\nSaturday June 27: 9:30 am – 8:30 pm (with breaks)\nSunday June 28: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm (with breaks)\n\n\nThis program is made possible by generous support from Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Travel and Witness. \n\nCollaborating Organizations and Leader\nPhiladelphia Yearly Meeting is the association of Friends meetings and communities across the Eastern Shore of Maryland\, Delaware\, southern New Jersey\, and eastern and central Pennsylvania. PYM connects and supports Friends in our region. \nAmerican Friends Service Committee works with communities worldwide to challenge injustice and build conditions for lasting peace. We are steadfast in our commitment to nonviolence and our belief in the transformative power of love to overcome conflict and oppression. \nFriends Committee on National Legislation is a national\, nonpartisan Quaker organization that lobbies Congress and the administration to advance peace\, justice\, and environmental stewardship. \nPendle Hill is a Quaker study\, retreat\, and conference center located on 24 acres in Wallingford\, PA\, seeking to create peace with justice in the world by transforming lives through experiential learning\, silent worship\, and a commitment to the historic testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)\, including peace\, equity\, and community.  \n Lewis Webb\, Jr. is the Peacebuilding Director at the American Friends Service Committee and is responsible for leading AFSC’s work towards a future free of militarism and violence. Lewis previously led AFSC’s New York-based healing justice work for over 12 years and since 2017 has been the coordinator of the organization’s national healing justice network. Since joining AFSC\, Lewis has built an advocacy program that focuses on sentencing and the school-to-prison pipeline\, established a growing youth advocacy training program\, and guided the collective development and eventual organizational endorsement of “Our North Star: A Vision for Community Safety Beyond Prisons and Policing.” Lewis holds degrees in philosophy and law and has many years of experience as an educator. He is based in Philadelphia.

SUMMARY:1990s Young Friends Reunion Weekend at Camp Onas!
DESCRIPTION:1990s-era/Gen X Young Friends of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting are gathering at Onas and we invite you to join us.\nFor many of us\, the past year has highlighted the need to come together and share resources and fellowship. The sacred community we created in the 90s was a powerful force in our lives. Now is the time to tap back into that power and rebuild that community.\nIf you were a 90s PYM Young Friend or adjacent to that community\, we especially hope you’ll join us. But all Friends and Friendly folk are welcome. \nWe will connect\, learn from each other\, and reignite the light of our community. Throughout the weekend\, just like in the old days\, we will take part in shared meals\, worship sharing\, and workshops focused on mobilizing our shared power. \n \n Get Your Tickets!\n \n \n \n \n \n If you would like to request financial or logistical support to attend this event please reach out to the planning committee: \nKri Burkander\, Paul Burkander\, Jasmine Surti\, Wilder Scott\, Mary Jesse\, Adrienne Pancoe Cormier\, & Josh Grove \nby contacting programs@pym.org.
