Applications are now available to Young Adult Quakers of the PYM region for the Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program (ELSP). ELSP is an initiative that seeks to offer a valuable internship-equivalent experience to young adults by involving them in one of the youth programs of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.
In this year-long program, young adult Quakers of the PYM region are placed with the Children’s, Middle School Friends, or Young Friends program to serve on the program’s working group and as Friendly Adult Presences for at least 3 gatherings out of the year.
These ELSP interns reflect and report on their experiences and take on a special project of their choice in service to the youth community. As an award for their service, ELSP interns receive $500 towards their participation in Quaker events or on experiences of professional development toward Quaker service.
