Youth Program Internship – call for YAFs!

Young Adult Friends

Interested in working with Quaker kids or teens?  We’re looking for Young Adult Friends (age 18-35) for the PYM Youth Program Internship, beginning in January, 2014.

Through the internship, young adult Friends enrich the youth programs, while deepening their own gifts.  Interns help the youth program Coordinators create the container for Quaker children & teenagers to explore their spirituality and create an inclusive, loving community.

There are intern positions working with three programs: Children’s Program/Junior Interim Meeting (K-5th grade), Middle School Friends (6-8th grade), and Young Friends (9-12th grade).

Interns help at least 6 days of programming during the school year (weekend retreats for middle & high schoolers, Saturday mornings or single night sleepovers for elementary-age kids.)  The internship is a way for young adults to give of themselves to younger Quakers, helping support the events & increasing the strength & consistency of Friendly Adult Presences, all while having a lot of fun!

At the end of the program, volunteers get a $500 scholarship, to be used for a Quaker event or spiritual development (like attending PYM YAF Retreats, a Pendle Hill workshop or YAF Conference, or the FGC Gathering!)

Online applications (open now!) & more information can be found on the Youth Program Internship page.
