Here it is, guys. Sixth verse included. Enjoy. “The Time- It is a-Wastin’” by Rob Cromartie
Come gather ‘round, young friends, the clerks they now call Us into the meeting room and out of the hall The FPs scold, saying it’s disrespectful to stall The clerks, they say, are getting ha-sty With sarcasm, some think ‘this my favorite time of all When the time- it is a-wastin’
As the meeting begins, I start to muse That some of these items are frivolous issues And that Quaker process is a real snooze And patience is rapidly fadin’ And our short time together is being misused And the time- it is a–wastin’
The first objection is raised by someone word-sensitive Is it really that hard to understand what something is? But, since I’m here anyway, I really don’t give But the meaning ain’t that complicated So, if you’re not exact, you will still live And the time- it is a-wastin’
Finally, I hope, is consensus, which is meant to cause stress After-all, we use annoying Quaker process I hope, after this, there’ll be no more issues to press For issues are something I hate But, as usual, the process is not a success And the time continues a-wastin’
Come on, you slow pokes, just get this done My level of patience is down to .1 We know it’s been a long time because there’s no more sun Going on this long is just cra-zy I thought these gatherings were supposed to be fun But the time- it is a-wastin’
It’s now the end and I’m ready to croke I’m ready to convert and worship the pope All of my patience, to this, I did devote The sun’s not up; that’s amazing About this, I’ll probably make a number of jokes How the time- it was a-wasted |
