Everyone must give us a new form.  This is the first event of the year.

There are always some quirks in the registration process that Young Friends run into registering without their families.
If you are coming with your family then register with your family. It may be cheaper for you as a family.
If you are coming without your family, then you need to register as the Primary Family Contact Person at the top of the registration form.

We Make the Road by Walking

When Philadelphia Yearly Meeting gathers at DeSales University this July for our residential gathering we can be a community in a way that is simply not possible when we meet in Philadelphia. At DeSales University, young and old mix at meals and in intergenerational sessions and workshops. In addition to worshipping and doing business together, we can all play together, enjoy one another's presence and get to know one another in a fuller and deeper way.

Zan lombardo will lead a workshop for Young Friends : The Pizza Rule: Walking the Talk. We agree to the guidelines at every gathering…and then what happens? Someone breaks the Pizza Rule. We, the Young Friends of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, in order to form a more perfect YF community union, will diagram, sketch, concoct, strut, laugh and feast our way all around the Pizza Rule and come out on the other side stronger for it.

Young Friends Schedule

Young Friends will gather in much the same fashion that we do for one of our gatherings. We will be staying in a designated portion of one of the dormitories, with the support of Friendly Adult Presences; Cookie Caldwell, Young Friends Program Coordinator, Hannah Mayer, the new Young Friends Program Assistant and Zan Lombardo and Tim Mammel will also serve as Friendly Adult Presences. We will join the community for many activities but much of the time we will have our own programs. Those signing up for the Young Friends dorm are expected to take part in the scheduled Young Friends program. Young people may also choose to stay with their families and participate in the Young Friends program.

Young Friends will choose a Workshop from 3:00-4:30 pm, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Register for workshops when you register for the gathering on the e-ply site.

You may pick any afternoon workshop that you want when you register online. The Adult, YAF, Multigenerational designation is a guide to you. Multigenerational workshops will have lots of young children in them but the workshop theme may interest you. I signed up for 10. Drumming up to the Light: Drumming as a Spiritual and even Ecstatic Practice with Ben Singer (Multigenerational-Arts/Spiritual. I think that drumming with Ben will be fun.

On Saturday during the 3:00-4:30 pm workshops there is "#7 Biking to a Greener Future"with John Lavin. If you choose this workshop you will NEED TO BRING A BIKE AND A HELMET. Most buildings have bike racks outside that are sturdy enough to lock bikes. You may want to bring a cover to keep your ike dry if it rains.
