When you reach Route 130 go straight across onto High Street. Follow High Street until it crosses Broad Street (the street with the train tracks). The distance is 4.3 miles from the NJ Turnpike and about 2.7 miles from I-295. In NJ via US Route 130 South: proceed south to a fork in the road just past the “Willis Honda” dealership. Rte 130 will bend to the left; continue straight onto what will eventually become Broad Street with train tracks running down the middle (look for a sign to the "Burlington Business District"). Turn right onto 413 south. 413 will cross US 13 and pass under a railroad bridge and then immediately make a right turn. Follow 413 over the Burlington-Bristol Bridge (NO TOLL entering NJ). Just past the toll booths at the traffic circle, go 3/4 of the way around and then make a right turn onto Broad Street. Follow signs to the "Burlington Business District." TRANSPORTATION DIRECTIONS There are now two ways to get to & from Burlington From Philadelphia, PA via New Jersey Transit buses and via the New River line Getting to Burlington via the new River Line light rail. Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Last trains will leave Camden at 8:50 p.m. and Trenton at 9:10 p.m. Trains will run every 15 minutes during peak hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays) and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours and weekends. From Philadelphia this means catching a New Jersey Transit bus to the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden then boarding the River Line train. It is cheaper and faster than taking one of the New Jersey Transit buses all the way to Burlington. From the SEPTA train platforms in the Market East Regional Rail Station (The Gallery Mall) a simple and safe way to catch the New Jersey Transit buses is to exit the train platform up the escalator to the "Section B" waiting area. (This is also where the train tickets are sold and there is an information booth.) Turn to your right as you come off the escalator and walk into the lower level of the mall, turn left and go up the escalator one floor to the street level of the mall. As you come off the escalator continue straight ahead past the next set of escalators toward the 10th Street exit. Just before the 10th Street exit, take the hallway to your right that will take you past the most wonderful soft pretzel shop out onto Market Street. As you exit the mall, onto Market Street, immediately to your right is a NJ Transit bus shelter where you can wait for your bus. You want any NJ Transit bus that is NOT an Express bus. The bus will take you over the Ben Franklin Bridge to the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden. The ride is about 15 minutes. Verify with the driver that the bus stops at the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden (express buses skip the transportation center). Ask the driver for a "two zone interstate continuing trip ticket" for the River Line light rail. Be prepared to pay the driver $2.05 in exact change. Keep your ticket! It is your proof that you paid for both the bus and the train. Buses to the Walter Rand Transportation Center will drop you in various locations inside and outside the Transportation Center. Walk out the front of the bus terminal then cross the street to the PATCO High Speed line station. If the bus dropped you outside, look for the PATCO High Speed line station. In either case walk about 150 feet around the PATCO High Speed line station to the River Line light rail Station. Board any north bound "Trenton" train. There are two Burlington stations, get off at "Burlington Towne Centre". The trains run every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during off peak hours. Exit the train at "Burlington Towne Centre"and walk to your left to the traffic light at Broad and High Streets. The Trenton Train Station is served by New Jersey Transit Trains, Amtrak Trains & River Line light rail trains, as well as NJT buses. As you come up the stairs or escalator from the train platform to the waiting room level, turn right, walk down the hallway past the ticket counters and the restaurant out the front door. Turn left, walk across the parking area and cross the street to the River Line Platform. Buy a ticket from the vending machine for $1.10 in exact change. Time Stamp your ticket in the Time Stamp machine next to the ticket machine. Keep your ticket! It is your proof that you paid for the train. Board any train. This is the north end of the line so any train leaving this station is going south through Burlington. There are two Burlington stations, get off at "Burlington Towne Centre". From the Greyhound Bus Station in Philadelphia. Walk out the front of the Bus Station, turn left and walk to the corner. Turn right and walk one block on 10th Street to Market Street. Turn right on Market and walk thirty feet to the NJ Transit bus shelter. This is the same bus shelter in the directions above for the NJ Transit buses. Greyhound bus schedule information. Connections from AMTRAK trains can be made at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia (or at Trenton), via any eastbound SEPTA train two stations to the Market East Train Station: show your AMTRAK ticket for free connection on SEPTA to the Market East Station. Then follow directions from Philadelphia above. Amtrak schedule Information From the Philadelphia Airport take the R1 SEPTA train to center city Philadelphia get off at the Market East Train Station. Follow directions above. Go to the SEPTA Regional Rail Schedules , Click on the R1 Airport Schedule . There are also Metro Rapid Rover vans from the Airport that will take you directly to Burlington.
From New York City the easiest way via public transportation is
to take Academy Bus lines from the New York Port Authority terminal to
the Academy Park and Ride NJ Turnpike Exit 5, just outside of Burlington
City. Cost: $18.00 one way (6/12/2003). This is about 3 miles from
the Burlington Meeting House. There are NJT buses that connect the Park
& Ride with the city of Burlington and there are Taxicabs available.
If you want us to meet you at the Park and Ride arrange this ahead of
time. Service from the New York Port Authority departs from Gate 3. Tickets
can be purchased at Port Authority terminal ticket windows 27 & 28.
There are ten buses each day on weekdays. Four buses return to NY City
on Sunday. The ride is 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Academy
