2007 Worship & Ministry Clerks Gathering Reports
Forty-three Friends gathered on December 8, 2007 at Plymouth Meeting in Abington Quarter to lift up the Yearly Meeting's spiritual life, worship, and ministry, and to help the PYM Meeting on Worship & Ministry discern whether their work had ended and if they should be laid down.
For many this gathering was a transformative experience. The day was organized into two sessions. Responses to sets of queries were given first in worship sharing fashion and then through open discussion. There were many overlapping sentiments and experiences relating to these needs and concerns. There were also contradictory concerns expressed - depending on the experiences and resources of those Meetings represented. Please download the following reports for more details.

Our Sabbatical Year
This is to inform Friends that the Meeting on Worship and Ministry has decided to take a sabbatical from its usual practice of visiting monthly meetings around Philadelphia Yearly Meeting to hear how the Spirit is moving among us. During the coming year, we will not be soliciting invitations to make monthly visits. However, we will gladly schedule a session with a Monthly Meeting at your request. In place of our customary schedule, this year we will meet quarterly and take time to seek God’s direction about what is the most effective way we might fulfill our mission. We plan to embark on a series of devotional activities centered around our experience of worship and ministry. We will share these through our web page, so the rest of the Yearly Meeting might likewise have the opportunity to take them up and benefit from them.
