Natalie Clifford Barney late in life

In the 1970’s, Natalie
Clifford Barney left money in her will for Yearly Meeting work “on planned
parenthood (birth control).” Since 1976,
because the Yearly Meeting did not have such a program, the income from this
bequest has gone to CHOICE, which offers counseling and hotline services on
birth control, sexuality, and reproductive health issues. Up to five PYM members serve on the CHOICE
Board, in recognition of the importance of the money to the organization.
