Some testimonials regarding the experience Friends had a Camp Crystal Lake this year. As one Friends put it, there is a sweeetness in our USQM community, that seems to be building and moving forward. I hope folks who attend CCL can spread the word and we will have an even better gathering next year!
Dear Wade,
Thanks for the wonderful opportunity of Crystal Lake! This is a late thanks, meant from the bottom of my heart.
I come from a Quarter that has not yet realized the rich possibilities of yearly retreats. I envy Meetings in Upper Susquehanna that
-have this regular opportunity
-have such a wondful site for such an opportunity
and of course have such engaging Friends!
Well, my Quarter also has engaging Friends... But because we do not have this sort of opportunity, I don't get to know them the same way!
And that is my point.
This is like a 'family reunion' time, when I get to see the little ones that are bigger, the range of ages, and learn what people in their Meetings and communities are doing.
I even enjoy business meeting! This model you have, which incorporates worshipfully the planning and reporting of the work of the staff and of Friends around the Quarter, is such a rich time. . . or something else?
Please consider asking me to do a workshop next year: on some aspect of activism and Quakerism, or 'isms/diversity' issues, or music. I often work with another person.
THANKS again, Wade!!
