Following a leading?
You needn’t go it alone.

The Supporting Individual Calls to Ministry collaborative is offering a peer group series to help you learn and practice, in small groups, a process to foster your own and other group members’ faithfulness to your leadings.

Registration is now open!

PLEASE NOTE: The April 1 program has been changed. The PYM Supporting Individual Calls to Ministry Collaborative invites you to worship in the Rufus Jones Room of Friends Center (the big glass-window room to your right as you enter). Friends are free to join in any portion of the day they choose. The worship and surrounding activities will occur with attention to reorienting and grounding in the Spirit amid the racism that some Friends in our yearly meeting witness.

This worship will bring Friends together at a pivotal time for PhYM. We cannot presume what Spirit will do with us during worship.

“Pausing” refers to the peer group series.

We, the facilitators of the peer group series program scheduled by Supporting Individual Calls to Ministry, felt we would be unfaithful moving forward with business as usual by beginning the series. We are mourning both the effects of racism among Friends and many responses to those effects.

This is a change to the original schedule, was meant to be the launch of a spirituality accountability and support program called the Peer Group Serieis. The peer group series may rise again at a more opportune time! SICM may take this up at its April 8 meeting to be held at Serenity House. Go to pym.org and scroll down to see the calendar event for this April 8 meeting.

This peer group series has three objectives:

  1. To equip people to discern and follow leadings with the help of small peer groups.
  2. To more fully release Spirit-led services and thereby create a better world.
  3. To, where possible, plant the peer group practice in participants’ home faith communities so others can similarly benefit and the communities become more fertile environments for leadings.

The peer group series will consist of three sessions with practice sessions in between. You can attend

  • Just session 1 when the peer group process will be taught or
  • All three sessions and interim practice sessions to better master the process and allow on-going support during the six month course.

Sessions are on Saturdays Apr 1, Jun 24, and Sep 30, 2017, 11am-4:30pm Eastern time at Friends Center (1515 Cherry St, Philadelphia, PA) and at satellite sites to be announced. They will include:

  • worship
  • instruction and practice of a peer group process to help us discern and/ or faithfully follow a leading
  • skills building related to the peer group practice and
