State Department Recognizes Woodstown Monthly Meeting

Peace & Social Concerns

The Friends Meeting in Woodstown raises funds to purchase magnetic locators, then donated to the United Nations. The instruments are used to find mines & unexploded munitions in countries unable to afford such equipment. In May we were recognized by the State Department’s Office of Weapons Removal & Abatement for donating 110 locators since 2007.  Jack Mahon and Frank Lenik met in Washington with State’s Stanley Brown to accept in the meeting’s behalf.
