Salem Quarter Goals
Adopted June 2005
- Nurture awareness of God in ourselves, in others, and in the world.
- Make our communities more aware of our work in the world.
- Educate ourselves and others about what it means to be a Quaker.
- Build community within Salem Quarter with intervisitation, recreational
activities, meaningful work together, care of members, and other
means that might present themselves.
- Focus on filling the empty spaces on the meetinghouse benches with
families and individuals of all ages.
- Nurture and encourage ministry and spiritual growth.
- Encourage closer ties to and wider participation in the larger Quaker
community by Salem Quarter monthly meetings and individual Friends.
Discussion at Quarterly Meeting included the role of quarterly meetings
in PYM. What does acceptance of a concern by PYM mean to Salem
Quarter, its monthly meetings and individual Friends? It was also
said that this would include intervisitation with other monthly meetings,
etc. It is not intended to be solely hierarchical. Tri-Quarter certainly
counts.
