PYM General Services Loses Betsy Johnson, Gains Michael Mazzeo
Betsy Johnson of Moorestown Meeting (NJ) has left the PYM staff after two years' service as part-time administrative assistant for general services. Betsy and her husband have moved to North Carolina where Betsy relishes the idea of 10 months of weather conducive to outdoor recreation and a lower cost of living. With PYM, Betsy very competently kept the office equipment running, ordered and organized supplies, administered mail and postage, and clerically supported the General Services Standing Committee.
On August 25, Betsy passed the baton to Michael Mazzeo, the new administrative assistant for general services. Michael comes to PYM from The Salvation Army, where he served as administrative assistant with a transitional housing program. His references speak of Michael as warm and competent, ethically sensitive, and a supportive team player. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and a diploma in personal computer applications. Claire Anastase is New Grants Assistant
We are delighted that Westfield Meeting (NJ) member Claire Anastase has joined the PYM staff as the Administrative Assistant for Grants. She provides clerical support for Yearly Meeting grants coordination, distributes and updates information for the Friends Funding Directory, and assists in administration for five granting groups: the Bequests, Chace, Jeanes, Pemberton and Membership Development Support Funds. Her position is a new configuration of existing Yearly Meeting functions, and does not require any new staffing expense. It replaces the grants internships of the past several years, and consolidates support for granting groups previously assigned to other staff.
Claire's interests include public policy, mediation and diplomacy. She is a recent graduate of Rhodes College, where she majored in political science.
