Although the PYM working group of Right Sharing of World Resources has been laid down, I am a board member to the national organization of Right Sharing of World Resources. I would be happy to make a presentation of our mission, history and current projects to your Monthly Meeting, Quarterly Meeting, Young Friends group or any other Friendly gathering. I often travel with a pot of soup so that we can share in a simple meal.
The RSWR mission is twofold: to work within the Society of Friends to educate ourselves about the poverty of a life focused on materialism, and to share our economic wealth with partners who are burdened by economic poverty. For historical reasons most of our partners are based in southern India; however, we are actively working to develop relationships in Africa and the Philippines.
The Right Sharing of World Resources simple meal held at Friday lunch during Philadelphia Yearly Meeting gave many Friends an opportunity to view our 13-minute video and to have some of their questions answered. We were able to make a contribution of almost $700 to RSWR.
