Here is an opportunity to serve our Yearly Meeting with a once-a-year gift of three hours of your time. Your gift of time can make it possible for Friends to successfully raise $435,000 for the Annual Fund (needed for PYM’s operating budget) before June 30. Your gift of three hours to participate in the Annual Fund phonothon will help us to make the goal. In previous years, the phonothon has raised between $25,000 and $30,000.
Friends who are concerned about projected budget cuts might consider that these kinds of reductions in Yearly Meeting programs and services can be reduced or avoided in the future if members' financial support increases. The most immediate way to show your support is to make a gift to our Annual Fund.
Phonothon dates are: Wednesday, May 28th, Thursday, May 29th, Monday, June 2nd, and Tuesday, June 3rd. Friends will meet at Friends Center in Philadelphia at 6:00 p.m. for a light supper and brief training. We will make calls from 7 till 9. You will be reimbursed for bridge tolls and parking. Carpools from monthly meetings will bring further fellowship to this effort.
You will meet Friends from many other monthly meetings, and speak on the phone with still more. We will call those Friends who support the Annual Fund, but who have not done so in this fiscal year. Friends receive these calls with grace because they care about the Annual Fund that provides services and programs across the Yearly Meeting. Your call helps them to remember something they value and support, a strong Yearly Meeting. PYM’s mission is to enrich and support the collective spiritual journey of our members and Meetings.
