Calling all Quaker children! Did you know that Quaker children from all around the area get together every year at Yearly Meeting? Did you know that YOU can come too? From Thursday morning, March 27, to Sunday noon, March 30, while the adults are having their business sessions on the first floor of Arch Street Meeting House in Philadelphia, the most fun part of Yearly Meeting is happening up on the second floor that's where the children meet.
Exciting, entertaining, educational activities are planned morning, afternoon and evening for infants to 5th-graders. Experienced volunteer leaders will be coming from many different Monthly Meetings to teach young people and learn from them about how to live peacefully, be peacemakers, and create a Peaceable Kingdom.
On Friday, March 28, children will be treated to a peace concert by Two of a Kind's David and Jenny Heitler-Klevans at 7:00 p.m. Then at 8:00, Tim Siftar of Eastern Cooperative Recreation School will lead a delightful round of cooperative games (sponsored by Friends Institute).
The Give & Take Jugglers, back by popular demand for their fourth appearance at Yearly Meeting, will perform on Saturday, March 29, at 7:00 p.m. Following at 8:15 will be a musical play about Edward Hicks' Peaceable Kingdom written, produced and performed by talented members of Richland Meeting (PA).
Come for all four days, or one day, or just a few hours, but please do come to the Children's Program at Yearly Meeting. It's a great chance for Quaker children to meet other Quaker children outside of their own Meetings.
