Peace and Social Concerns Committee of London Grove Meeting (PA) is sponsoring an Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) workshop, Level I (Basic), the weekend of January 24-26. Facilitators include Steve Angell of Kendal Meeting (PA).
Alternatives to Violence Project workshops were developed in response to questions from prison inmates in New York: "Show me an alternative to violence?" Through exercises and sharing, participants learn what violence is, and what different practices can be applied to stress or conflict situations.
To practice peace, be creative and learn by doing! Here's a way to discover your own practices for reconciliation, love, sharing, and peace. Today, AVP facilitators and workshops are found on seven continents. Become part of the family.
Register with Gail Newbold at gnewbold@kennett.net. Nominal registration fee is $10. All food provided during workshop hours; special diets provided for. Friends at London Grove will offer hospitality for long-distance participants, on request.
