The letter expressed deep concern about the intent of President Bush to forcibly remove Saddam Hussein from power through a direct military attack on Iraq. It offered practical questions about the consequences of the attack and provided contact information for Friends Committee on National Legislation and the American Friends Service Committee.
Green Street Meeting (PA) took out a half-page ad in a local newspaper to make known its opposition to war.
Millville Meeting (PA) sent an open letter to President Bush which was endorsed by Upper Susquehanna Quarterly Meeting. In the letter, the Meeting asked the president to find peaceful alternatives that would save lives and uphold American ideals.
Plymouth Meeting (PA) approved a letter to elected officials expressing disagreement with the presidents decision to use war and the threat of war to change conditions that threaten the United States.
