Want to know what time Kennett Meeting starts worship? Or how Young Friends play the game Wink? Or how to check out a library book in Philadelphia when you live in State College? Or maybe you need a quick, inexpensive way to get word out to Friends. Answers to these and other questions are at your fingertips on the World Wide Web through the sites of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and its Monthly Meetings.
Started through the innovative efforts of a small number of Friends, www.pym.org has grown into a valuable resource with vast amounts of information, thanks to the efforts of many volunteers. The PYM Web Working Group, with the help of consultants Eric and Carol Metzker of Willistown Meeting (PA), is working to build a roadmap for a future PYM website that will serve your communication needs and interests. To create possibilities for the future site they will use the process of Appreciative Inquiry, an approach which elicits what successes users have had with the current site and identifies what is important to different stakeholders.
Your help is needed! Voice your opinions and ideas to help create the roadmap to the future web site at a lunchtime meeting on Saturday, September 14, during the Doing Outreach conference at Fourth and Arch Street Meeting House in Philadelphia. If you cannot attend that meeting but would like to talk about the project, please contact Carol or Eric Metzker at 610-793-4387 or 610-793-9480 or send e-mail to echmetzker@aol.com.
