ince late in 1999, the Directory and Yearbook have been produced up to seven months behind schedule because the editor, Allen Reeder, had taken on a temporary assignment involving conversion of PYM's membership database. The delay meant that annual reports were being published more than a year after they were written.
In order to get these books back on schedule, the Support and Outreach Standing Committee reluctantly approved the editor's recommendation that the 2001-2002 Directory not be published this year. The 2002-2003 Directory will come out in August 2002. Skipping an edition of the Directory allows the editor to begin work now on the Yearbook with reports from the fiscal year ended June 30, 2001. There will be no cost savings from skipping a Directory in the current fiscal year, because two editions of the Yearbook (one delayed) are being charged to this year.
Copies of the most recently published Directory are still available from Allen Reeder. Up-to-date information on members and appointments is available from the PYM database by contacting Monica Firely. Friends with e-mail are asked to send inquiries to staff by e-mail rather than telephone in the interest of efficiency.
