he Development Services Working Group of PYM invites the members of Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting to attend a program on Wills and Estate Planning from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Moorestown Meeting, 118 East Main Street, Moorestown, New Jersey.
Planning ahead to protect those we love and those institutions we value is an act of love. Understanding constantly changing and complicated tax laws requires help. Two experienced Quaker lawyers from Haddonfield Quarter have volunteered to be of service to Friends. Richard DeCou of Moorestown Meeting and Daniel Kurtzman of Haddonfield Meeting will lead the discussion.
The Development Services Working Group hopes to move Friends to either have a will drawn or to update an existing will. According to Consumer's Report, 75 percent of Americans do not have a will. Friends of all ages need a will. Young adult Friends have children to protect, middle aged Friends have children and parents to consider, and older Friends have children and grandchildren to consider. You are the one to decide what becomes of your estate, and who will have custody of your children, not the State of New Jersey. Who will make medical and financial decisions if you cannot make them for yourself? Was your will drawn in the state you now live in? Please come and bring your questions with you. Richard and Daniel have the answers.
Please RSVP before June 8 to Elizabeth Foley at the PYM offices. Call 215-241-7115, toll free 1-800-2200-PYM, extension 7115, or e-mail elizabeth@pym.org.
