new e-mail group service for Quaker treasurers and other financial types is now up and running, thanks to Ed Dunlop of Willistown Meeting (PA). Read on to find out what the group is and how to become a part of it.
QTreas is a free, easy-to-use e-mail group service, which allows members to share information and ideas regarding the finances of Friends Meetings. As a member of this group, you may send messages to the entire group using just one e-mail address: QTreas@yahoogroups.com. For instance, if you need help finding a Friendly auditor, just e-mail the group. The QTreas web site also has calendars, links, a membership list and other useful tools. It is located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Qtreas.
The current moderators of the e-mail group include Connie Brookes of Haddonfield Meeting (NJ), Executive Director of Friends Fiduciary Corporation; and Kathy Reilly of Westfield Meeting (NJ), Director of Finance for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. The lead moderator is Ed Dunlop, a member of the Treasurers Planning Group of the PYM Financial Services Group.
Members of other Yearly Meetings can participate, but the e-mail group is only for members of the Religious Society of Friends performing financial functions. Again, you can join by visiting http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Qtreas or by e-mailing to QTreas-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You will need to provide your name, your Yearly, Quarterly, and Monthly Meeting, and your "Friendly Financial Function" via e-mail.
Please pass the word along to other treasurers who might be interested.
