n Saturday, April 7, there will be a hands-on workshop on Quicken® computer software for Meeting Treasurers and Assistant Treasurers (or whomever is or will be keeping the Meetings financial books). The workshop will be geared for both beginners and current Quicken users! There will be lots of individual attention. The goal for days end is that each participant will go home with a floppy disk that will contain a chart of accounts tailor-made for your own Meeting. The disk can then be loaded into the Meetings Quicken program and the system will be ready to go.
The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Westtown School, Westtown, Pennsylvania. Lunch will be provided and parking is free. Childcare, however, will not be available. Pre-registration is required for this workshop, as only 18 participants can be accommodated. We want to ensure that everyone will have an individual computer to work on. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can register by calling or e-mailing Connie Brookes at Friends Fiduciary Corporation (CABFidCorp@aol.com or 215-241-7272) or Kathy Reilly at Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (kathyr@pym.org or 215-241-7214).
At the session on computers January 27, we did discuss possibly working on both Quicken® and QuickBooks® software at the April 7 workshop but, after a lot of thought, we decided that that would be too confusing for one room and would do a disservice to those in attendance. Therefore, we will plan another workshop for QuickBooks and would greatly appreciate hearing from all Friends who would be interested in such an offering.
