At Yearly Meeting on Saturday, March 24, while adults are considering financial matters, thinking about what we are called to as a Yearly Meeting, and listening to John Punshon in the evening, children will be actively engaged in an enjoyable and educational program of their own.
PYM Religious Education has lined up dedicated and skilled leaders for each age group: infants and toddlers, 3's and 4's, kindergarten and 1st grade, 2nd and 3rd grade, 4th to 6th grade. There will be field trips to local sites, special activities, and lessons designed around the Friends testimony of integrity. This is an excellent time for Quaker children to form lasting friendships with children from other Monthly Meetings.
Children coming to the March 24 sessions at the Fourth and Arch Street Meeting House in Philadelphia will be the first to experience the theme of integrity, which also will be emphasized in a curriculum packet sent to Monthly Meetings in February and woven into the children's sessions during residential Yearly Meeting sessions July 17-22 at DeSales University (formerly Allentown College).
Pre-registration for the children's program on March 24 is due by Monday, March 19. Registration forms will be sent to each Monthly Meeting's religious education contact enclosed with February's PYM Religious Education Newsletter. Additional information or registration forms may be obtained from Mary Anne Crowley in the PYM Religious Education office at 215-241-7221* or maryc@pym.org
